Now that summer’s here in the Midwest, an outdoor shower can come in handy; and for more reasons than just a post-swim rinse. Some like to shower every morning to the sound of birds and nature. Others wash off gardening grit, or shower after sports. And, of course, it’s a great way to leave the dirt outside after grimy little ones or your favorite pooch are finished playing.
Determine location for the shower based on use and plumbing. Near the back door, or by the pool are common sites. A deck shower near kitchen or bath , or a shower on a ground floor patio off the laundry room means you can tap into existing hot and cold water lines.
The plumbing fixtures involved can range from a simple foot sprayer, to an enclosed shower with hot and cold water, multiple sprayers and built-in changing room. Handheld sprayers and oversized showerheads are popular options.
