Many things have to go right to stay in business for twenty years. Sharon Rogers, owner of Sandwich Antique Mart, has been successful by going “above and beyond” in her business.

“Sandwich is an antiques mecca,” she says. “The many high quality shops are a draw–but we’ve added events through the years to entice our customers to come back again and again.” The shop promotes an annual Garden Show at the beginning of the season featuring annuals and perennials from Red Bud Nursery. Another annual event is the outdoor Tent Sale held in October.

Jim Carlson, a long time dealer in the shop, credits the shop’s success with outstanding customer service, along with the highly-visible location right on Route 34. Jim believes another important aspect is the quality dealers in the shop– they’re all working toward making customers happy.

When you visit, remember to sign up to be on the email list to be part of the shop’s “Secret Sales” to receive extra discounts.

Sandwich Antique Mart is at 2300 E. Rte. 34 (just east of Sandwich) by Govik Ford & Chevy), Sandwich. (815) 786-6122

Gently Used Clothing at $5 and Less at New 2 You Resale

Elsa Reinke, Owner, New 2 You Resale

When Elsa Reinke’s position was eliminated with the downturn in new home development, she took time to reflect on what to do next.

“I took two months off, and decided that I should leave the corporate business world.” Reinke found inspiration for the path to follow in an unusual manner. One night, she had a dream that she opened a resale shop. The next day, she started putting plans in motion.

“I’m into giving back,” she says. “It’s rewarding to be able to offer quality clothing that everybody can afford.”

“When I saw this location, I knew it was the right spot,” she adds. “It’s accessible to people throughout the area.”

Prices in the shop are very affordable, with clothing priced at $5 or less. Clothing is available for men, women and children. There is also an assortment of household items and furniture. Everything is presented on quality wood hangers, grouped by style, size and color.

Reinke also works with several area shelters, offering donations to homeless families in need.

Donations of clothing and furniture are always welcome. Mens’ clothing, in particular, is most welcome. A truck is available to pick up donated furniture.

New 2 You Resale is at 149 Roosevelt Rd. in West Chicago, at the corner of Joliet, in the La Chiquita Plaza. To learn more, contact Elsa Reinke at (630) 621-8811.
